Ashley Arthur

We are so proud to announce our new
Teacher of the Year.....
 Ashley Arthur!

Growing up I never thought I would leave the hills of West Virginia.  It wasn’t until after graduating from Marshall University, with a degree in Elementary Education in 2005,  that I packed up my bags and moved to South Carolina.  Although the move was hard, something about Loris Elementary felt like home.

Over the past five years that I have taught at Loris Elementary School the students have become like my family.  I could fill a whole album with pictures of all the crazy outfits from spirit days.  I tear up thinking about sending my students off to Loris Middle School, but I also smile knowing they are ready for what the future holds for each of them.  My students have also honored me by choosing me as one of their most influential teachers.

I could not go on without mentioning the other huge part of my family, the staff.  The support they have shown me has been immeasurable.  It was my colleagues who encouraged me to pursue my Master’s Degree.  I am currently working on a degree in Technology in Education through Lesley University.  With their continued support, I plan to graduate in February 2010.

I feel that I have many years ahead of me to accomplish more great things with the Loris Elementary School family.  It is a great honor to represent Loris Elementary School as Teacher of the Year.  Thank You
